Template Tech Talk

No matter how complicated your client’s corporate brand and style is, the template can keep print to that style, enforce the brand and ensure the product meets the clients high standards. This is a key selling point and differentiation between your Print Evolved service and other online systems. Within a template, every text line of every job can be individually parsed and a rule applied. These rules have been programmed in tabular form and are available from pull down menus accessible through the upload procedures. They are called, in technical speak, regular expressions.

A regular expression (regex or regexp for short) is a special text string for describing a search pattern. An entry in a fi eld is compared to the regular expression and if it does not exactly match, the entry is not accepted.

An example might be for a person’s name always to be in capitals.

Many more front end features exist such as lines that move up or down automatically should there be less or more lines than the default products. Or you can amend labels. Or you can re-order immediately or to set up multiple orders with a few simple keystrokes.

Print Evolved allows you to ‘mirror’ the structure of your corporate client regardless of their size, number of employees, locations, division, or individual template needs. As long as you understand how your client likes to work, we will work with you to provide the solution that fits.

At the back end invariably there are fi les that contain the graphics information itself and also the administrative details (delivery address, quantity, cost centres etc). Print Evolved uses this information to automatically produce batched job bags containing full details of every order, even if a batch contains orders from different customers. Print Evolved works like a funnel where all orders go in, are sorted electronically, in whatever quantity and are then streamed out into their common features, making printing control and accuracy a breeze.

That is why we can claim that Print Evolved can go from web to press in well under fi ve minutes (the record is two minutes!) even for a run of multiple orders
