Print Evolved is not the only system currently available that attempts to streamline print management. New ones are also entering the market. This is all good news for the industry as it keeps us on our toes. It also ensures that potential customers and users become aware of what is on offer and the huge changes that can be made through adopting new approaches. Some companies have failed or have been absorbed into larger corporations so may never see the light of day as stand alone applications and have to be purchased as part of much larger MIS packages.
However, we could inform you in detail of the ways our competitors systems are not very flexible and hard to implement. But, for now, we can provide you with the main points that Print Evolved believes sets us apart from the others. Our customers tell us, those that have tried other systems, that up to a point all systems do significantly encourage change and better working practices. However, there are always parts that are either not yet implemented or do not work satisfactorily. These are the main areas to consider when looking at other products:-
"Are they PDF based?"
If so there will usually be problems with scale and automatic repeat ordering processes.
"Do you have to purchase and set up internally?"
Thus you have to make a major investment decision with dubious reliance on support. With Print Evolved you can get going for just £50.00. Other systems may cost literally thousands of pounds (we know one that starts at £16,000) and do not provide all the features of Print Evolved.
"Are they hosted but use PDF's?"
Then there may be speed problems and because of the space taken by a PDF, transaction charges are likely to be well in excess of the pay as you go for model Print Evolved uses at under £1.00 a transaction!
"Are they central server based or set up internally?"
The flexibility of relationships is much more future proofed with a hosted solution.
"Are the systems designed by software engineers or those that really understand your business?"
Print Evolved is brought to you by printers for printers. We guarantee that we have investigated every detail in print workflows, including the ways that customers communicate with printers and how their often vagueness and lack of printing knowledge can be turned into positive benefits.
"Are the systems sold by representatives of large companies?"
This invariably means an expensive product and a large staff to back everything up. Print Evolved is highly specialist in Print Management software and online implementation consultancy work and offer a personal service. Whilst our R & D expenditure ensures we keep ahead, our running costs are low and we can afford to market our service to a very wide audience and thus total anticipated volume ensures a good income for ourselves and low prices for our users.
"Are the systems sold by the 'owner's of the software or their country agents?"
Not always a negative but long term support is more likely to be affected by changes in relationships. Print Evolved is made in the UK and is owned by us. If systems are sold in the UK and owned elsewhere the agents will have to pay license fees that often come to more than our fees to our users! Because we are the software providers we can make rapid changes and respond to new challenges.
Future Proofing
Developments are introduced rapidly in response to customer feedback. Print Evolved is committed to supporting its platform both now and long term. Our aim is to provide customers with the best in hosted software solutions and as such we are learning from many sources including other industries. Our technical staff keeps constantly abreast of competition and the range of developments throughout the Internet and IT industries as well as in printing itself.
Our software platform is XML. This is the most flexible and future proofed system there is and combined with our modular approach and low pricing model we believe that we can gain the volume of transactions through the system to ensure we have the funds to develop and introduce new functions and applications.
